I make the gadgets and gizmos work for theme parks, museum exhibitions, and live theater performances.
As a teenager, I became fascinated with technical theater– how did that quick costume change happen so seamlessly? How did that lighting effect obscure the set change? How did the combination of technical elements result in a specific emotional experience in the audience?
This hunger to understand the how behind live events turned into a passion. I spent my free time between classes in college lugging heavy theater lighting equipment around campus. Nearing graduation, with an electrical engineering & computer science degree almost in hand plus dozens of live event design credits under my belt, I considered: how could I combine my skills in hardware design with my love of theater?
I found the answer in themed entertainment.
